This statement, along with our Terms of Service, applies to your use of this website, subscription to the MCVB newsletter, and any other related services provided by us (the “Service”).  We have prepared this privacy policy statement (this Statement”) to explain how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our Service.  All references to “MCVB,” “we,” “us” or “our” refer to Marin Convention & Visitors Bureau, a California nonprofit mutual benefit corporation.  All references to “you,” “your” or “user” refers to the end-user of the Service.  Unless explicitly stated otherwise, MCVB is the controller of your personal data provided to, collected by or for, or processed in connection with the Service.

This Statement is effective as of October 1, 2018.  We reserve the right to change this Statement at any time, with or without notice to you.  If you continue to use the Service after we post any such changes, you consent to the new Statement and agree to be bound by the new Statement.  We will always have the latest Statement posted on the Service.

 

Information We Collect

 

You are not required to provide any information that directly identifies you in order to browse our website.  We collect only the minimum amount of personal information necessary for the purposes described in this Statement unless you choose to provide more.  We encourage you to only provide the amount of data you are comfortable sharing.

When you request a page from our Service, our servers log the information provided in the HTTP request header including the IP number, the time of the request, the URL of your request and other information that is provided in the HTTP header.  We collect the HTTP request header information in order to support the functionality of the Service, to personalize content presented to you, and to improve the Service.

The Service uses first-party cookies to personalize, streamline, improve, and otherwise provide the functionality of the Service. Our website requires the use of cookies throughout the online reservation process in order to support the functionality of the Service.

 

We use both "session" Cookies (which are automatically deleted when you close your browser) and "persistent" Cookies (which remain on your hard drive until you delete them or they expire).  We do not use Cookies to ascertain any personally identifiable information about you apart from what you voluntarily provide through the Service.

Government Requests

 

We may receive requests from government agencies to obtain information about our users.  Although we greatly value the privacy of your information, we may disclose your information in accordance with such requests if we believe such action is warranted.  We will strive to notify you if we receive government requests about your data, to the extent permitted by law.

Accessing, Correcting and Taking Your Information

If you believe that the information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, you may also request that we update your information. Children Under 13

Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under age 13.  If you are under 13, do not attempt to send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number or email address.  If we learn that a child under age 13 has submitted personal information through the Service, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
