Culinary Farm Tour 2015

Thanks to our beautiful weather, our annual Culinary Farm Tour on April 9 was not only a lot of fun, but a huge success too! Transportation was provided by Extranomical Tours. The day started with an introduction and tour of AIM’s Chefs Farmers Market in San Rafael. The group then got on the bus and headed out to West Marin and visited our most historical creamery, Marin French Cheese Company, which is celebrating their 150 year anniversary now; they had a tour of the new retail shop and deli, followed by a cheese tasting, paired with hard apple cider from AppleGarden Farm. Afterwards, the group headed out to coastal Marin and experienced The Fork at Point Reyes, with a farm tour, focused cheese tasting and a farm fresh lunch. Then off to Heidrun Meadery for a tour and tasting of the only sparkling mead in the world. And the last stop for the day was Cowgirl Creamery, for an introduction and Red Hawk and Crème Fraiche tastings, followed by their own Early Grey panna cotta which was heavenly!
