Artist Open Studio with David Benzler at Nick's Cove Tomales Bay

David Benzler lives and works in San Francisco as a commercial sign painter and muralist, working with businesses to realize their visions. He also works as a fine artist focused primarily on plein-air landscape painting, as well as commissioned representational painting for private clients. As part of his residency, he is offering an artist talk and demo which will take place on the Waterfront Lounge, where he will teach the art of sign painting and the mechanics of basic brush lettering.
This demo will be structured mainly as a lecture and demonstration, with time at the end for participation. All materials related to the craft of sign painting will be provided, and David will give in-depth explanation as to their uses. He will also show examples of studies and sketches, all the way up to finished signs to explain the process, as well as physically illustrate the mechanics of basic brush lettering. This is a very special opportunity to learn from one of the Bay Area's best sign painters.
