Bob Dinetz is a member of The Potter’s Studio in Berkeley, California and is trained as a graphic designer. Collecting Japanese and American ceramics inspired him to explore making pottery of his own. The functional pieces Bob makes are simple, modern forms with surfaces that are elegantly glazed or left raw to highlight the natural clay. As a part of his residency at Nick’s Cove, Bob will be offering a pottery demonstration in the Waterfront Lounge. He will be throwing several pieces on the pottery wheel to show the steps from a ball of clay to a finished piece, as well as demonstrate techniques for trimming a foot ring and stamping a pattern with a screwdriver.
