As a founding member of Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen, Kirchen first brought the band to the Bay Area in December 1969. Now Bill brings the Airmen back to town to celebrate the release of their new 50 year reunion album, Back From The Ozone. Four original Airmen - Kirchen, Bruce Barlow, Andy Stein and John Tichy, plus Austin de Lone, Peter Siegel and Paul Revelli went into the studio last year recorded a disc of half new originals and half Cody classics.
Bill Kirchen is a Grammy nominated artist and co-founder of the seminal Americana and Roots R 'n' R band Commander Cody, Bill Kirchen offers a very rare combination of guitar virtuosity, a mastery of roots rock 'n' roll, and an easy connection with his audience. His guitar drove the Commander Cody classic Hot Rod Lincoln into the Top Ten, and spawned a career that has spanned over 50 years. He has released 12 CDs on his own, and recorded and/or played guitar live with a who's who of Americana and Roots Rock 'N' Roll, among them Gene Vincent, Link Wray, Bo Diddley, Hazel Dickens, Doug Sahm, Hoyt Axton, Emmylou Harris, Maria Muldaur, Dan Hicks, Nick Lowe and Elvis Costello.
General Admission Tickets are $35.00 per person in advance and $40.00 on day of show. $58.00 for General Admission, plus a Cookout Meal are available. All tickets must be purchase in the above website link.
