Date: Sunday, July 21, 2024
Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
This summer, Tiburon is bringing back Tiburon Jewish Festival to celebrate community and culture. The festival will highlight the foods, drinks, music, and traditions that Jewish people celebrate and enjoy. The festival will take place in Zelinsky Park, downtown Tiburon.
The Festival will feature Lior Ben-Hur, who founded Sol Tevél and in 2012 assisted by the legendary Israeli music producer, Yossi Fine, he produced the band’s debut album, World Light, which aims to shed a new light and contemporary interpretation on old Jewish texts, ideals and mysticism. Along with his 7 piece band, Lior Ben-Hur continues to focus on his passion for Reggae music, which has been a key inspiration on his musical creativity and spirituality.
We will also have the Ferris Wheels Band highlighting the second half of the festival. The set list features traditional and contemporary Jewish songs, as well as rock classics with Ferris’ Judaized lyrics.Putting a Jewish spin on the lyrics of popular songs, transforming Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” into “Sweet Aroma of the Challah” and the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” into “I Can’t Get No Hamantaschen."
The festival will also include family entertainment with inflatables, games, crafts, vendors, and traditional Jewish foods, including kosher Falafel and Shawarma.
Admission, music, and kids activities will be at no charge. The food will be for sale.
