Italian Film Festival at Dominican University

Presented by Lido Cantarutti, the Italian Film Festival started out as an informal one-time only presentation of Italian movies in a college lecture hall. Now celebrating 45 years, the Italian Film Festival of Marin County is on Saturdays from October 7 - November 4, 2023. Mr. Cantarutti has presnted appearances from Italian film directors and composers, dignitaries of the Italian and Italian-American communities, and an authentically Italian atmosphere at every presentation.
All films are in Italian or original language with subtitles in English. All films are suggested for mature audiences.
"Never Too Late for Love" ("ASTOLFO") is a 2022 comedy romance in color and lasts 97 minutes:
Directed by Gianni Di Gregorio ("Mid August Lunch" / "Pranzo di Ferragosto"), with Gianni Di Gregorio, and Stefania Sandrelli
Astolfo, a retired professor evicted from his apartment, decides to move into a noble but decrepit palace, the last remnant of his family patrimony in a remote village of Abruzzo, where he hasn't been for decades. Soon enough, as a newcomer, he befriends a vagabond, a retired chef and a young handyman. The group lives together harmoniously at his place when he comes across Stefania, a charming and generous woman of his age. Astolfo falls in love and struggles with feelings he thought belonged in the past. Encouraged by his loyal group, Astolfo makes a brave step and learns that it's never too late to fall in love.
