KC Turner Presents Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band at HopMonk Tavern

Crying Uncle, widely recognized as one of the most exciting young bands in acoustic music,
plays a unique mix of Bluegrass, Dawg, Jazz and modern acoustic originals. Founded in 2016 as aduo band, brothers Miles and Teo Quale have performed at venues and festivals across the country, including Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles, CA (as guests of The Watkins Family Hour), Freight &Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, Greyfox Bluegrass Festival in NY, and Ogden Music Festival in Utah. In 2019, the brothers performed at the Grand Ole Opry and, with Country Music Legend MartyStuart, at Ryman Auditorium. The brothers, who are also National and State Champion fiddlers and pickers, were 2019 Freshgrass Festival finalists in the fiddle and mandolin contest categories, and nominated for the 2021 IBMA Instrumentalist Momentum Award. In 2022, Miles received the prestigious Whippoorwill Arts Fellowship. Their bluegrass band has toured internationally and released a number of albums, the most recent being The Thing of Dreams.
For this show, the brothers are joined by award-winning twins, bassist Jason Howard and guitaristJonah Howard. The Howard brothers, whose band, The Cross-Eyed Possum, won the 2022 Pickin in the Pines Bluegrass Festival band contest, have toured several times across the country and beyond.They recently released their newest album, Out on my Own.
This band has performed at Prescott Bluegrass Festival, Whippoorwill Arts/Northwest Folklife Festival, and at Ogden Music Festival. Recently, they opened for bands Hawktail and Henhouse Prowlers.
