Italian Film Festival at Dominican University
Date: Saturday, October 29, 2022
Time: 5:30pm and 8:00pm
Presented by Lido Cantarutti, the Italian Film Festival started out as an informal one-time only presentation of Italian movies in a college lecture hall. Now celebrating 45 years, the Italian Film Festival of Marin County is on Saturdays from October 1 - November 5, 2022. Mr. Cantarutti has presnted appearances from Italian film directors and composers, dignitaries of the Italian and Italian-American communities, and an authentically Italian atmosphere at every presentation.
All films are in Italian or original language with subtitles in English. All films are suggested for mature audiences. "Glassboy" is suitable for ages 8+.
"THE INNER CAGE" ("ARIAFERMA") is a 2021 drama in color and lasts 117 minutes.
Directed by Leonardo di Costanzo, with Toni Servillo, Silvio Orlando, and Francesca Ventriglia
An old prison built in the 19th century, located in a remote and unspecified part of Italy, is scheduled for closure. Due to bureaucratic mishaps, the transfer of inmates is blocked and a dozen prisoners are left, along with a few guards, waiting to be sent to new destinations. In a suspended atmosphere, the rules that keep them separate are slackened and new forms of relationship emerge among the remaining men.
General Admission is $21 per person, plus a service charge. A 6-Film Series is available for $118 per person. Please purchase tickets in the above website link. More details on film festival here
