The charm and character of Marin’s unique cities are reflected in its many neighborhood shopping districts.  Each community in Marin offers shoppers something unique for every taste and wish.  Located within the communities of Marin are boutiques, antique stores, fine arts and one-of-a-kind crafts, artisan foods, handmade gifts, and home furnishings.  Art galleries are scattered throughout Marin, many of them filled with the work of local artists.

In addition to the local community shops, Marin also hosts regional and nationally-known retailers, located in a number of shopping centers throughout the county.  From Vintage Oaks at Novato to Northgate Mall in San Rafael, to the beautiful high-end outdoor shopping destinations in Corte Madera to the many retail plazas strategically placed throughout Tiburon, Mill Valley and Larkspur, and all the way up through San Anselmo and Fairfax.  But let’s not forgot the organic finds and eclectic shops scattered through the hills of West Marin / Point Reyes.

There are many antique dealers and shops in Marin where you will find fine collections of European, Early American, Spanish, Asian and most any other type of collectable you could hope to find.  It’s a big treasure hunt!

San Anselmo was recently voted “Best in the West” for antiques, featuring over  25 shops and 110 dealers.

O'Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley operates two well-appointed art galleries featuring new and experimental works from upcoming and professional Bay Area artists. They host an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. the First Tuesday of each month in conjunction with the Mill Valley Art Walk. That event is free of charge and open to the public. Additional hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. Artwork on display is available for sale and represents various interpretations of the Center's creative philosophical approach of visual perception. The Center also schedules programs and classes that compliment the exhibits.
