Bay Area Green Business
Perched on a forested ridge between the lofty peaks of Mt. Tamalpais and above Mill Valley located 1,000 feet below, the Mountain Home Inn has been enticing guests with stunning views and rustic charm for almost a century.
This bed and breakfast was built in 1912 as a mountain getaway for San Franciscans seeking an escape to nature, and has since served the entire Bay Area as a welcome stop for hiking enthusiasts - trails to Muir Woods and Mt. Tamalpais are right outside its door lovers and even celebrities (Jack London and the Grateful Dead have stayed here). An abundance of wood, both inside and out, lends warmth to all the rooms, as do numerous fireplaces and homey details like the vintage photos of the inn framed on guestroom doors. The inn's restaurant offers fare that's fresh and lovingly prepared.

All in all, it’s a relaxing hideaway to enjoy some tasty California cuisine, hear some lively jazz, blues or ?amenco and get away from it all in classic Marvelous Marin fashion.
There aren’t many hotels in Marin or elsewhere with the charm, ambience and away-from-it-all vibe of the Panama. Built a century ago as a private home, this hip Gerstle Park landmark has catered to boarders, diners and travelers since 1926; offering the relaxed atmosphere of an old-school country retreat. A series of pastel buildings and a garden patio host a popular restaurant and ten singular accommodations (three are pet friendly), each decorated in a different style (safari, nautical, pueblo, Venetian, bordello and, of course, Lady Bracknell’s boudoir). Your room, suite or bungalow might have a wet bar, skylight, sitting room, clawfoot tub or bidet, and all feature a private patio or balcony as well as a refrigerator, cable TV and microwave oven. The Panama’s facilities play host to a variety of events from weddings and receptions to corporate banquets and mixers.
All in all, it’s a relaxing hideaway to enjoy some tasty California cuisine, hear some lively jazz, blues or Flamenco and get away from it all in classic Marvelous Marin fashion.
